To my Veteran comrades, please read the article before sending me a note informing me that the flag isn’t backward. I know the flag isn’t backwards, and I explain this fully in the article.
I took this assignment because I did exactly what you’re inclined to do: I saw the headline and said to myself, ‘THE FLAG IS NOT BACKWARDS!!!’ I then took the assignment to detail why it looks backward to civilians, but it isn’t backwards.
In fact, I say that it’s not backwards multiple times in the article. If you read the article and have a problem with my explanation, please let me know, but don’t just read the headline and jump to comment because I get it. I’m a Veteran as well, and I know all too well what our uniform regulations say about the flag patch. I have two in my shadow box that I display proudly, and I’ll be damned if someone tells me they’re backwards!!!
The Flag is not backwards… the Flag is moving Forward and blowing aft… if the direction were reversed the individual would be retreating. We ultimately have never retreated and never will… regardless of what anyone may think. We don’t have Borders or Border Guards to keep people in the Nation.
Did you not read the article? I explained this in detail. I even closed by saying that we never retreat. You’re the second person to comment on this article, and I’m getting the impression people are only reading the headline and jumping to comment. Please read the article, and you’ll see that I explain this fully.
I just checked, and I literally wrote “Most importantly, the flag is most certainly not flying backward” and “it’s not backward at all.”
